IRI Builds Graphical Workbench on Eclipse for Big Data & PII Security

IDE Facilitates Job Design, Metadata Management, and Remote Execution

Melbourne, Fla. (January 10, 2011) – Innovative Routines International (IRI), Inc., a leading developer of big data transformation and data-centric protection software, will bundle an Eclipse graphical user interface (GUI) with its product line. The "IRI Workbench" is a comprehensive, integrated development environment (IDE) for job design, execution, and management that will ship with the next versions of CoSort (starting with 9.5.1 next quarter) and its companion products (Fast Extract, FieldShield, NextForm, and RowGen).

The IRI Workbench introduces end-to-end job creation wizards that support all CoSort data manipulation functions, and include on-line help. For those who still prefer scripting, a syntax-aware editor is linked to a job outline, dialog and form editors, and other functions that help users build, modify, and run their job scripts.

IRI support lead Rob Howard explained that the tools in the IRI Workbench constitute "modern, graphical options for specifying data sources and metadata, job action phases (like joins), and target layouts." Users will also be able to visualize and move data between database sources and targets, "meaning that SortCL users can transform, convert, protect and report on flat files, pipes and procedures, and data stored in Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, SAP, MySQL, Sybase, and other tables."

The GUI's project, data source, and remote systems explorers help users manage their resources and run their jobs on licensed clients and servers. Other facilities - including metadata discovery, conversion, and importation modules - represent further functional and ergonomic enhancements that improve the user experience.

Details on the IRI Workbench for CoSort users are posted at www.iri.com/products/CoSort/SortCL_GUI.
