But for those who want to run IRI or other jobs on the command line without leaving the workbench (which you still of course can do), another plug-in called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wicked <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Shell<\/em> fits the bill even better.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Customization &amp; Use<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After installation (described below), I noticed a number of customization options available from the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Window &gt; Preferences &gt; Wicked Shell <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">menu. I used the style setting to change the font color and background of the command line window:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/1-Preferences.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10514\" src=\"http:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/1-Preferences.png\" alt=\"Preferences\" width=\"600\" height=\"359\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/1-Preferences.png 806w, https:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/1-Preferences-300x179.png 300w, https:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/1-Preferences-768x459.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To launch the command-line (or batch) view, click <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Window, Show View, Other, Wicked Shell<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shell<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/2-Launch-the-command-line.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10515 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/2-Launch-the-command-line.png\" alt=\"Launch the command line\" width=\"488\" height=\"322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/2-Launch-the-command-line.png 488w, https:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/2-Launch-the-command-line-300x198.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 488px) 100vw, 488px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>which then brings up a shell view you can position as a view tab anywhere in the Workbench.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/3-Show-view.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10516 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/3-Show-view.png\" alt=\"Show view\" width=\"307\" height=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/3-Show-view.png 307w, https:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/3-Show-view-211x300.png 211w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 307px) 100vw, 307px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When I use the shell, it has the appearance I configured (click to enlarge, and see the bottom tabs):<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/4-Shell.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10517\" src=\"http:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/4-Shell.png\" alt=\"Shell\" width=\"600\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/4-Shell.png 1435w, https:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/4-Shell-300x180.png 300w, https:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/4-Shell-768x460.png 768w, https:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/4-Shell-1024x614.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Features of note are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">support for Cmd.exe, Cygwin bash.exe and MSYS sh.exe commands<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">direct use of shell commands, and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/iri\/iri-workbench\/running-iri-jobs-in-the-iri-workbench\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">job executions<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, from inside IRI Workbench<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">support for editing functions, including IRI\u2019s new <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Copy Path<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> feature for Project assets<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dynamic tie-up to its batch file view and execution feature, an alternative to <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/iri\/iri-workbench\/executing-batch-flows-in-iri-workbench\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">these options<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Installation<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To add this command line tool for Eclipse, click on <em>Help, Install New Software<\/em> \u2026 and next to Work with: enter, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">http:\/\/www.wickedshell.net\/updatesite<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and click <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add \u2026<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> . Specify Wicked Shell as the name in the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add Repository popup dialog, click <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OK<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and then activate Wicked Shell in the selection window.
