Among the PII data profiling and data discovery tools in the\u00a0IRI FieldShield<\/a> data masking product is an interactive data visualization panel, or dashboard, for PII search results. These data discovery displays are derived from the results of searches for PII in structured sources like relational databases and flat files. <\/span><\/p>\n

The HTML5-comptabible charts are viewed in a browser, and created from schema or directory searches launched from job configuration wizards in the <\/span>IRI Workbench Data Discovery menu<\/span><\/a>. The search jobs produce statistics about, and provide insight into, specifically defined classes of data<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Each data visualization is based on a data profiling or search log, and complements the text-based reports the search wizards also produce. <\/span>Note that IRI DarkShield<\/a> users can also produce graphical dashboard charts for data analysis from their searches through structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources<\/span>. The dashboards described in this article flow from these Workbench data data discovery wizards:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Each dashboard uses Chart.js to create graphs that provide visual frames of reference for the data, rather than merely exporting log data to a spreadsheet or BI tool to provide the visuals. Any external system like that would have to import, restructure, and build a display from the log data from scratch. Instead now, it\u2019s all automated in, and launched from, <\/span>IRI Workbench<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    In addition to providing a more graphical version of what\u2019s in the text output, the charts actually extend the capabilities of the data discovery wizards. If the chart option is selected, a page containing the charts will automatically display upon completion of the wizard.<\/span><\/p>\n
