CellShield comes as either an inexpensive Excel Personal Edition (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iri.com\/products\/cellshield\/cellshield-addin\">PE<\/a>), or in an Enterprise Edition (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iri.com\/products\/cellshield\/cellshield-ee\">EE<\/a>) for LAN-wide PII discovery, bulk remediation, and auditing. Both versions perform\u00a0full or partial\u00a0redaction, encryption (including format-preserving) and decryption, and pseudonymization:<\/p>\n<div style=\"display: inline-block; float: left; margin: 1% 3% 1% 3%;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\" height=\"113\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Li_pULwbwpc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Simply select the range of cells you want to protect, and then click the type of protection you need.<\/p>\n<p>An easy-to-use interface guides you through the steps, and CellShield does the work for you. It\u00a0also provides decryption and pseudonym restoration.<\/p>\n<p>Below is\u00a0a step-by-step example using CellShield\u2019s &#8216;Mask Redact&#8217; feature to mask social security numbers in an Excel spreadsheet. (Note: All information used in this example is fictional.)<\/p>\n<p>1. Open the Excel spreadsheet containing the data you want CellShield to protect.<\/p>\n<p>2. Click the CellShield tab on the Excel ribbon.<\/p>\n<p>4. Select the protection option you want to use from the buttons on the CellShield menu. In this case, select &#8216;Mask Redact&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/data_buttons.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6225\" src=\"http:\/\/www.iri.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/data_buttons.jpg\" alt=\"data_buttons\" width=\"184\" height=\"87\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>5. Fill in all required information on the user form that pops up from your selection. UPDATE: As of CellShield version 2.0, all UTF-8 characters are supported as a masking character.
