CoSort 9.5 Achieves Chiphopper Certification

IBM Confirms IRI Software for Use on i, p, x, and z Series Hardware Platforms

Melbourne, Fla. (May 12, 2011) – Innovative Routines International (IRI), Inc., a leading developer of data transformation software, has achieved Chiphopper certification from IBM for the latest release of its flagship software package, CoSort v9.5.1. CoSort transforms and reports on big data, migrates legacy sorts, generates detail and summary reports, protects personally identifying information (PII), and replaces many SQL, shell and 3GL programs.

IBM's Chiphopper program helps independent software vendors (ISVs) in porting, testing, and supporting their Linux x86 applications on other IBM systems and middleware platforms. IBM assists ISVs by providing tools to scrub their code for portability prior to porting to Power Architecture and System z systems. Chiphopper certification assures compatibility with IBM Linux Systems on x, i, p, and z series hardware platforms.

"As usual, the team at IBM was very helpful in the process of working with us to attain this certification, and we were able to certify quickly," said Sue Gegner, IRI's platform portability leader. "Fast Chiphopper certification of CoSort means that CoSort continues to employs industry coding and reliability standards while maintaining maximum compatibility across Linux systems -- CoSort is always ready for use on IBM's multiple Linux platforms."

CoSort for Linux commonly runs on 32- and 64-bit Intel x86 and Itanium hardware as well. Along with the IBM Chiphopper certification, CoSort is also "Red Hat Ready" for RHEL servers, and Novell YES! certified for SLES. CoSort and its spin-off products like FiedlShield, NextForm, and RowGen, also runs on many other Linux variants like AsianUX, Centos, Debian, Fedora Core, Gentoo, Mandrake and Ubuntu," Gegner said, "which is important to an ever growing list of Linux users worldwide."

CoSort was the first commercial sort package developed for Unix, Linux, and Windows, and has been employed by major corporations for data transformation since the early 1980s.Other distinguishing attributes are CoSort's speed in volume, and its ability to integrate, stage, secure and report on high volumes of data within the same job script and I/O pass.

CoSort is licensed for perpetual use. For more information, visit www.iri.com/cosort.
