Big Data Preparation Node for KNIME Analytics Platform Released
IRI “Voracity Provider for KNIME” Wrangles and Governs 10X Faster for Data Science and AI
Melbourne, FL - August 5, 2019 - Innovative Routines International (IRI), Inc. (www.iri.com), The CoSort® Company, has announced the release of a seamless new bridge between its Voracity “Total Data Management” Platform and the KNIME Analytics Platform to accelerate, and improve the quality of, analytic and data science outcomes. The IRI “Voracity Provider for KNIME” is a native workflow node for KNIME that behaves as a data source by running Voracity data wrangling jobs and feeding their output through memory into KNIME analytic and visualization nodes.
Powered by interchangeable IRI CoSort or Hadoop data transformation engines, Voracity is an end-to-end data lifecycle management platform product which filters, transforms, integrates, cleanses, masks, and reformats data in multiple sources, or synthesizes intelligent test data. Voracity sends results to multiple persistent, virtual (federated), or in-memory BI targets -- which now include KNIME workflows.
KNIME, for Konstanz Information Miner, is a free and open-source platform for data analytics, reporting and data science. KNIME integrates various components for machine learning and data mining through its modular data pipelining concept. KNIME also supports artificial intelligence (AI) through deep learning.
The new IRI node allows KNIME users to select a specified data preparation task or task-combination that was configured in Voracity, run that job, and feed the results and metadata into KNIME data structures. Both Voracity and KNIME operations are designed and run in the same pane of glass, IRI Workbench built on Eclipse.
Initial benchmarks in the IRI Workbench show that single jobs run through the Voracity node powered by the CoSort SortCL program prepared and fed data to KNIME nodes up to 10 times faster than built-in KNIME v4 ETL nodes did. Through the provider, Voracity seamlessly pumps simultaneously integrated/transformed, filtered, validated, cleansed and PII-masked data to any KNIME task.
After seeing both workflows built and running together in IRI Workbench, JET-Software consultant Amadeus Thomas remarked that the Voracity Provider for KNIME “makes for an incredibly fast, feature-rich, and affordable coupling of big data wrangling with advanced analytics.” He added that the new IRI node for KNIME should thus be “a big deal in the worlds of big data, prediction, and eventually, AI. It can already help citizen data scientists punch above their weight with more data sources and hypotheses, and CIOs who want to see bigger, faster ROIs from their data lake projects.”
