IRI on 2022 DBTA List of Top Companies in Data

IRI Voracity Data Management Platform Seen Enabling the "Data-Driven Future"

June 8, 2022 - Melbourne, FL - Database Trends and Applications (DBTA) magazine has named Innovative Routines International (IRI, a/k/a The CoSort Company) to its 2022 list of the "100 Companies That Matter Most in Data”. This is the seventh year in the row that IRI has been included in the rankings. This year's list features those companies who help simplify the complexities of rapid data growth — on-premise, in the cloud, or in hybrid scenarios — so that businesses can more rapidly seize the chances and benefits created from data-driven activities.

In the annual issue's preamble, DBTA Editor-in-Chief Joyce Wells writes that "the ability to seize new business opportunities, create new products, and deal effectively with competitive issues requires strong data management and analytics capabilities." She explained that the requirement is therefore "not to simply gather and store all this data. Making it available for decision making by users who need it — when they need it— is the goal."

According to IRI Sr. VP David Friedland, "this goal helps explain a resurgence in IT spending in the post-COVID era." Based on the survey report “Managing Data in a Demanding Digital Economy: 2022 Quest IOUG Database Insights Report” released by Unisphere Research, 80% of respondents (twice the percentage of two years ago) expect to increase their spending on data and IT management in the coming year. Unisphere analyst Joe McKendrick concluded that "if the level of corporate or management support can be gauged through budget commitments, then a recognition of the critical role of data management in ensuring the success of business operations is evident."

Friedland opined that "DBTA continues to recognize us as a top company in this space, because of the value-adding roles that the IRI Voracity data management platform and its components continue to play." For example, the IRI CoSort big data integration and cleansing engine in Voracity supports a clear understanding DBTA said business leaders have, which is that "resilient IT systems and pipelines for high-quality, trustworthy data moving into employees’ workflows for decision making is essential."

In addition, Unisphere reported that 40% of respondents "indicated that much of their time and budget goes to ensuring security, while 36% see significant portions of their time and budgets dedicated to testing and quality assurance." Friedland added "that is what the sensitive data classification, discovery, de-identification (masking), subsetting, and test data synthesis capabilities in Voracity (components like FieldShield, DarkShield, and RowGen) address every day."
