DBTA Names IRI Ripcurrent a Trend Setting Product for 2023

Real-time Change Data Capture Facility for Databases Also Spotlighted in Outlook Series Interview

February 23, 2023 - Melbourne, FL - Database Trends and Applications (DBTA) Magazine has recognized the new “Ripcurrent” real-time change data capture facility in the IRI Voracity software platform as “trend-setting.” Innovative Routines International (www.iri.com), better known as IRI, The CoSort Company, released Ripcurrent as an included component of Voracity in July, 2022.

Ripcurrent is the latest addition to Voracity, which was first introduced in 2017 as a comprehensive data management platform for multi-source data discovery, integration, migration, governance, and analytics. Ripcurrent touches on each of these areas through real-time movement of changed data captured in several different kinds of relational database logs.

Ripcurrent moves and manipulates newly inserted or modified (updated) rows in the transaction database into new database tables or files that need to be refreshed and in sync for business intelligence, testing, research, archival and cloud use. When rows are deleted in the source, Ripcurrent automatically deletes those rows in the target in real-time as well.

DBTA featured Ripcurrent in recent issue called “Trend-Setting Products in Data and Information Management for 2023” and posted a “spotlight” article summarizing the offering’s primary benefits at:

Ripcurrent received additional industry recognition this month in an online interview at Outlook Series. According to Outlook Series Editor-in-Chief Michael Lippis, “The information revolution empowers individuals with real time data on demand. The Outlook Series focuses on the business value of technology which drives that democratizing technological paradigm. It’s for this reason that delving into a real-time technology for database data like Ripcurrent makes sense for us.”

Lippis recorded a 24-minute Q&A session with IRI SVP David Friedland detailing the value of data captured from database logs as data is added, changed or deleted. The interview is posted here:

Within both the DBTA product spotlight and Outlook Series interview, Friedland summarized how Ripcurrent can be used for incremental database data replication, masking, transformation (ETL), cleansing, reporting, and structure change notification.

IRI also published a series of 4 articles in its blog which cover several of these topics with examples.
