The "New Single Source Migration" job wizard dialog below gives you insight into this process, which is a simple way to expedite a format conversion.
This result of this process is a portable job script in the NextForm Control Language (.ncl) which you can modify in the GUI or any text editor. Easily remap field positions and sizes, change data types, endian characteristics, and so on.
